The Canadian Polish Congress, Manitoba District, will commemorate 200 Years of Polish Immigration to Manitoba along with celebrations of 150 Years of Canadian Confederation. This historic event will be honored by erecting a bronze plaque at the Manitoba Legislature Building. Placed alongside similar plaques of other ethnic groups, our commemorative tablet will acknowledge the Polish roots in Manitoba and Polish contributions to the settlement and development of this province. We should proudly and publicly acknowledge the rich legacy of our ancestors and remind everyone that Manitoba would not have become what it is today without their spirit, their talents, their hard work, and their vision. Multiculturalism, which makes Canada so strong and unique among the nations of the world, cannot be properly celebrated and fully embraced without recognizing the past and present accomplishments of Polish settlers on the Prairies.
