Transmission of the Polish mass

As of January 2021, CKJS 810 AM will be broadcasting “Sunday Mass in Polish” from the St. Andrew Bobola Church in Winnipeg. Thanks to the member organizations of the Canadian Polish Congress (CPC) Manitoba branch, you will still be able to listen to the liturgy on the radio every Sunday at 2:30 pm.

In the past, the mass was broadcasted from Holy Ghost Parish, however the parish has decided to end its cooperation with radio CKJS 810 AM. The CPC Executive received many requests for intervention in this matter from Polish seniors. For many people, the ability to participate in the liturgy remotely is extremely important, especially during the pandemic.

Representatives of CPC and Polish organizations negotiated a new contract with the St. Andrew Bobola Parish Council, Saint-Boniface Archdiocese and CKJS 810 AM. It was agreed that the Sunday Mass in Polish will continue to air for 2021 from this church.

Radio air time requires financing. The funds for the first half of the year 2021 have been provided by the member organizations of the Canadian Polish Congress. Fundraising efforts within the community will begin immediately. The future of this initiative depends on Polish community in Manitoba. A special committee within CPC has been established for this purpose.

Members of the community, who would like to support this initiative are kindly asked to make donations to St. Andrew Bobola Parish in Winnipeg, with annotation “Radio-Polish Mass”
